Christmas Blog! Finally :)

We are finally home, unpacked, and the house is clean...well, cleanER.  Abby's new toys are strewn throughout the living room.  She can't pick a favorite, so she plays with each one...every day.  She is FINALLY back on schedule after not sleeping for three nights in a row.  This girl needs her schedule.  So, officially, we will not be spending the night off again until she is 16.

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning in my house with Tim's mom (Gram), my parents (Grandma/Granny Candy and Pops), and Frankie (Fifi).  We fed reindeer, ate seafood lasagna (yummo!), and then opened presents and stockings the next morning.  Abby hated feeding the reindeer (she was tired and it was cold) but loved her presents.  She really loved squishing the paper around.  We left to head to Birmingham after all the festivities at my house, and by the time we hit Chelsea, it was SNOWING.  Yes, Abby's first Christmas was a white one - the first ever in Birmingham history.  She loved getting to see Aunt Monica and Uncle Eric, and of course being doted on by the girls!!  We had a fantabulous first Christmas!!!  We planned to go see Tim's grandfather in Gadsden the day after Christmas, but with icy roads, we werent able to.

In other news, Abby is taking her first tentative steps these days.  Before today, she would take one or two at a time and then collapse and crawl.  Today, we got FOUR big steps.  Last night, she grabbed my face and gave me two kisses.  She is turning into the sweetest girl who is always smiling.  She loves Howie and goes and looks out the back door when he is outside, calling "guh" at him.

Say a little prayer that I can get her new helmet situation resolved.  I just saw the BCBS claim statement saying that it was NOT covered and we owed Hanger $2000.  I am calling tomorrow, but am very annoyed that this is even a possibility.  So, an anonymous $2000 check in the mail would be greatly appreciated at this point!!!!  Well, not even that.  We paid $588 (our portion), so we only need a $1412 check! :)

Enjoy the pictures :)

9 Month Appt

It's been a busy few weeks!  I was out of town for about a week and a half total, so Tim had to play Mr. Mom. All in all, I'd say he did awesome - there were a few moments of fun (like forgetting her helmet one day!).  :)  She didn't even seem overly thrilled to see me when I got home....looked up from playing and smiled, hugged me, and went right back down to playing.

She's crawling and cruising all over the place now.  I mean EVERYWHERE.  Pulling up on everythign and everyone.  Grabbing everything.

She had her 9 month appt last week (I know, she's almost 10 month!).  But since there were no "real" shots (besides flu), it could be a little later they say.  She has her one year on her bday.  Anyhow, she weighs 20.5 pounds and is 29 inches, putting her around the 75% for both.  Bless her little (tall, chubby) heart!!  They said that she has eczema, which is common in babies with reflux and/or reactive airway/asthma.  These things she got from her daddy according to the doc.  But of course, she got her big ole head from me :)

Speaking of heads, hers is looking SO much better.  We go back on Tuesday to see Chris and then we start going every 2 weeks.  We will be switching over to Christmas stickers soon! :o)  Hopefully she won't be in it the full 3 months, but I'm preparing myself for the possibility of Valentine's stickers!!!

She and Tim both have a cold and I think they infected me.  Stinkers!!

We are looking forward to Christmas and seeing everyone!!  Tim's mom, mom, dad, and Frankie will be over Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.  And then it's off to Birmingham to see Tim's sis and Eric and the girls.  I believe the day after Christmas, we'll head to Gadsden to see his grandfather.  (To anyone looking to rob my house after reading this blog thinking I won't be home, Frankie will be. And she'll have my gun, my beagle, and my Bible.  So look out!).

Love y'all!!

Happy belated Bday Frankie and Monica!

Teeth, Santa, and Helmets...

Those are three things that don't often have something in common :)

Abby Reid got her first tooth yesterday.  The same one (or one of the two!) that have been trying to come in since she was 3 months old!!  YAY!!

We went to Fantasy in Lights last night at Callaway Gardens last night.  Abby hated it. She hated Santa, she hated the trolley, she hated being carried, she hated the music.  We were the people that we usually hate - the ones with the disruptive kid!  But, as you can see below, the picture turned our hilarious!!!!  I have some more pics of us with Abby that I will post tonight hopefully!

We had a great thanksgiving.  My parents came on Thursday and we had turkey and all the trimmings with them and my sister.  Abby got to eat turkey, potatoes, and rice and loved every minute of her grown up food!  Friday, we went to Bham to see the Loreman/Steelreath clan and watch the Auburn/Alabama game.  Abby wore her cheerleading outfit the first half...Auburn was AWFUL.  She was so hot, so we took it off the second half...and we all know how that turned out!  War Eagle!

She has been in her helmet for one week now officially.  We go back today for him to look, shave some off, and check fitting.  I believe we will go once a week until it is done.  I can't tell a difference as of right now, but they say it can take up to 2 weeks to see one.  We'll see!!  I think she looks adorable in it, but I DO want to cry everytime I put it on her head.  It doesnt seem to bother her in the LEAST.  We get a few strange looks ,but so far no one has been ugly, rude, or out of line.  We met a man in Bath and Body Works on Saturday who sought us out because his baby had to have one.  It was nice to talk and hear tips on how to take care of the helmet and protect her head from dryness/rash.

Pictures coming soon.  :)

Helmet Decorations

So we got our helmet today.  Tell me, does this thing look like $2000?  Or even $555 (our part?).  I don't think so either.  Ask me at the end of 3 months when we should see a sweet little round headed baby!

A sad story.  Abby has not been sleeping well at night.  It's like she forgot how to self soothe completely.  And since she learned how to roll over, now she stands up in the bed and screams.  Tonight, after 10 minutes, she got really quiet.  Tim went to go and check on her.  She was slumped down at the end of the bed.  She had passed out...was on her knees, still holding on to the bed slats.  Her head was resting against the slats and on the bumper.  It broke my heart :(  Sleep baby!!!!
