No cute pictures tonight - its been a long day.

Me - I went to my 6 week check up today and all was good.  Abby slept all through the appointment :)  When Dr. Stewart was leaving the office, he stooped down to say hi to her and she sleep smiled at him.  Such a flirt already!  Of course, he thought she was adorable - who doesnt!  I should have gotten her picture with him - and since Sonya pointed that out, I am so sad I didnt!!  We got the office a cheesecake and a thank you note - as true Southern girls do - and they were very grateful.  They were so good to me (and Abby) - and Lord knows I saw them enough with those weekly ultrasounds.  And an update on that - the nice new insurance lady re-filed those and they have been covered.  We no longer owe $3800! :)

Abby - Last night was Abby's worst night of reflux ever.  I was literally in tears with her.  It was AWFUL.  Ab saw the doctor today as well.  Since the Zantac doesn't appear to be working out for her, Dr. Cheek swapped her over to Prevacid.  (Insert Rant here - our insurance won't cover the Prevacid Solutabs.  Please explain to me how you are supposed to get an infant to swallow a capsule?  This is what happens when bureaucrats get involved in insurance and medical matters they have no business in.  And its only going to get worse.  Thanks Obama.)  Doctor also suggested switching her to a soy formula to see if that helped.  Abby drank three bottles of it today.  And promptly projectile vomited tonight.  I don't mean "spit up."  I mean I watched her shoot formula out of her mouth a foot away.  It was very Linda Blair.  She smiled while she did it, but still.  Seeing as how she has never spit up before, we discontinued the use of soy and went back to our sensitive formula.  We'll see how that goes.  Here's hoping we don't have to switch to the super expensive Nutramigen or Alimentum formulas.   We go back on the 20th for her 2 month appointment for shots and hopefully we will be all better by then.  Of course, while Dr. Cheek was in the room with her, Abby laid on her back and coo-ed and ah-ed the whole time.  Dr. C said "she's such an angel here."  I said, "Try to feed her."

Pray that she gets all better with this prevacid dose and we don't have to go any higher and she can stick with formula that works for her.

Think this picture says it all. This has been her worst night so far. I hope the doc has some thoughts tomorrow. Not sure how much more she can take :(

Another Day in Paradise...

The good news is that Abby has slept the past 2 nights in a row for 8 hours!!  I believe it is primarily based upon her new "bed" - the Fisher Price Rock N Play.  For the bargain price of $50 (which I would pay 100x over again), and an hour drive to Newnan, GA, Abby and I have had TWO restful nights' sleep.  It's been amazing.  I'm not sure what it is about this particular thing, but it is a wonderful invention.  I first heard about it from my friend Eliza and then researched it on baby reflux message boards.  I also read reviews on Amazon, Target, and Babies R Us (all of whom had like 95% 5 star reviews - unheard of!).  I decided I had to have it.  It was not an impulse buy, I promise!!  Our Babies R Us did not carry this particular item, but the lovely lady at the counter told us how awesome it was and how her co-worker recently drove to Newnan to get it.  Apparently, in Columbus, we have a pitiful little B'R'U and Newnan has the mac-daddy big store.  After going, I definitely agree!!  So we went Saturday with our friends Amanda, Luke, and Hanna Lane (age ~9 months).  Abs and Han enjoyed each others company again and everyone remarked how adorable they are (duh!)

On Sunday, Mom and Dad came over for a few hours - it will be a few weeks before they will be able to again and they just couldn't take it.  Mom brought me my necklace - for my baby shower, she and Daddy bought me a small gold locket necklace.  When Abs was born, she got her name and birthdate engraved on the back.  Now I have to find a pic to put in it ;)  They respected my wishes and did not bring any more clothes - Abby's closet is FULL, her drawers are FULL.  We are bursting at the seams for age 0-3 months.  So instead, Abby got a big, soft stuffed duck.  I got some pretty purple earrings for my birthday (Abby's birthstone) and some shoes that didn't fit Mom's fat foot.  My dad insisted I print a retraction from the last blog - he claims I was merely made to "taste" the banana.  But that is NOT the way I remember it, so I will not be printing said retraction.  Only saying I love him, regardless of banana incident.

After they left, Sonya came over for a few hours.  She had a bad week and needed some Abby cheering up time.  For those of you who know my bff Sonya, you know she is a talker.  And a loud one.  I think this picture says it ALL - "Hush Sonya!"  Just kidding.  She was loving Sonya hard for a few hours. After being loved by my parents and Sonya, we are struggling with our schedule today - of course Abby doesnt understand why I am not holding her ALL day.  After all, she WAS held all day yesterday :)

Ab's reflux is about the same.  If it doesnt get any better, we go back to doctor on Wednesday.  If it gets worse, we are supposed to go in tomorrow.  They upped her dosage.  So we'll see.
We went by the daycare today to drop off her paperwork and get my questions answered.  We have to label bottles and I found these adorable bottle labels that I'm thinking about ordering.  Any other suggestions?  These aren't "labels" exactly.  More like those "livestrong" bracelets that go around the bottles. Click here to see the  Bottle Bracelets.  A little pricey @  4 for $12, but when you think that they are reusable, not bad at all.

This Easter weekend, Tim's mom will be joining us.  It has been about 5 weeks since she has seen Abby, so we are excited!  Frankie had bought her an Easter dress, but now it is like a halter top since Abby is so tall.  So we will have to dress up in one of our other dresses - even though we aren't able to go to church yet because Abby is too young.

That's all - talk to you all soon :)

10 Things...

So my friends Mercer and Beth have posted 10 fun things about themselves that are random.  I thought I would do the same!!
  1. I hate pickles.  I think they are the devil's creation.  They spread their nasty juice all over anything they come in contact with.  There's no getting that taste out.
  2. I also hate bananas.  When I was little, we went to the Grand Canyon and my parents thought I needed potassium (or some other lame excuse).  The way I remember it, my daddy shoved a banana down my throat and made me eat it.  To this day, I cannot stomach the texture but love the smell.  Go figure.
  3. I HATE talking on the phone.  I believe that most things that need to be said can be said via text - unless they are extra juicy, vitally important, or confidential.  Especially now that I have a very loud baby.
  4. I am a hypochondriac.  (Shocker!)  If my leg hurts, it is a blood clot.  Indigestion is a heart attack.  Headache, brain tumor.  Abby has a rash?  Measles.  Howie throws up? Stomach cancer.  Because of this, I know waaaaay too much about medical issues and could probably rival most doctors I know.
  5. I am insanely competitive.  Like really.  I get a terrible attitude when I lose.
  6. If you lie to me, and I catch you, you are more than likely written off.  Forever.
  7. Like Mercer, I am addicted to my blackberry.  They don't call them crackberries for nothing.  I check my email, my facebook, my text messages constantly.  I blog from it.  When the roller ball gets stuck, I feel like I might melt down.
  8. I am a bit of a technological geek.  I CAN fix your computer, your phone, your wireless internet connection. Do I want to?  No.
  9. I am a terrible singer.  A horrible one.  Ask Tim.  But in my car, I can hit every note Idina Menzel hits in "Defying Gravity."  I sound just like Taylor Swift...or Sugarland...or whoever I am singing.  And Abby loves it.  God bless her, she doesnt know any better yet.
  10. I refuse to wear the color yellow.  It makes me look like I am dying from some horrible disease.
And now, I'll close with a cute picture of Abby...and  5 random things about her from her point of view!
  1. When I am sleeping, sometimes my right hand goes straight up in the air - it looks like I am hailing Hitler.  I dont know why this happens.  But I wish my parents would stop laughing at me.
  2. I have horrible acid reflux.  I feel like a baby dragon and am pretty sure that one day, I will be able to blow fire on Mommy's hair and make her as bald as me.
  3. I sleep best when I am in motion - in the car, in the swing, in your arms rocking.  I sleep worst when Mommy is exhausted.
  4. When I stretch, my wrists wobble.  It looks like I am winding up to punch you in the face.
  5. I like to hold your fingers when you are feeding me.  This is NOT because I love you.  It is because I can make sure you won't take that bottle away until I am ready for you to.

Baths, Fits, Track Meet, More Fits...

We've had a rather uneventful past two days...but they have seemed incredibly crazy.  The "routine" is going ok - she had a great nap in her crib today - her first one ever!  After I figured out (by reading online!) that we should probably elevate one end of her crib mattress to alleviate the flow of acid back up her esophagus, she will now lay in that bed without pitching *such* a fit.  Of course, I feel like mom of the year trying to make her lay in there the other day...she was hurting!!  Ah well.  And yes, she is in a "baby straightjacket" aka swaddler.  That way she doesnt throw her arms up in the air and wake herself up!  I am so ready for the startle reflex to GO AWAY!!  Between that and the hiccups, I feel like she is ALWAYS waking herself up!!  Its just so unfair!

Yesterday, we met my friend Amanda and her 8 month old Hanna Lane at Babies R Us and Marshalls for a little shopping and then hung out and talked for awhile afterwards.  I can't wait until Abby is old enough to look at and pose for the camera.  Shes always looking away.  And Hanna is mad because Amanda had just taken her bottle away!!  Poor baby was trying to eat and the selfish moms wanted a picture!!

Last night, Ab and I went to help Tim with the track meet.  Abby did very well...for the first hour or so.  Then she woke up and got grumpy.  Regardless, we got all the work done, and looked VERY cute while doing it.  Two girls stopped me on the way to the pressbox and said she looked like a  Barbie Doll.  Thanks girls, but don't breathe on her! ;o)

Of course, you will notice that she is wearing shoes in that picture...Tim found some girly pink and silver tennis shoes at Babies R Us the other day, so we *had* to have them.  It was while I was getting her ready that I noticed how similar they were to mine!!  And we were wearing matching colored jeans too.  We are sooooo cute and cool!

We took some Easter pictures here with her stuffed bunny and sheep.  They didnt turn out *great* but they are ok for us!!  She is too young to go have her pic made with the Easter Bunny - and there are waaaaay too many germs to have to think about dealing with!!  So I'll be printing the pics and sending some y'alls way soon.  Frankie bought her a dress to wear for Easter and boy am I glad we put it on today.  With Abby's long legs and torso, it may as well have been a halter top.  But it had cute little bloomers, so we used it anyway.  Tim went to change her diaper tonight and brought her back without bloomers.  I quickly informed him that we will NOT ever be taking her out of MY house with a dress on with a diaper hanging out.  That's what bloomers are for.  :)

Rough Days

So we are trying to get Abby on a "routine" - the BabyWhisperer doesnt like the word "schedule.". Apparently the Ab-ster needs to learn to fall asleep on her own - without being held. That is sooooo not going well. As soon as I tried to put her in her bed, that bottom lip started to quiver. Needless to say, we failed miserably. Ah well, we will make it. If you want to buy her a present, please send C batteries!! I think we will be using the fire outta this swing :)

Tummy Time Cuteness...

As punishment for still being wide awake at 10:30 pm last night, I decided to make her do tummy time on her boppy.  Please forgive the blurriness of the picture - it was taken with a cell phone while wild thing was moving!!  But look how far her head is up - she is soooo smart :)

Mom and Dad should be here shortly and it is in my plans to sneak a nap hopefully.  Although I DID get one when Abby took one this morning - those little one hour nuggets of peacefulness.

Tim is running in a race today.  Scared of that.  Abby uttered a prayer to God for her daddy -
"Dear God, please let my daddy not collapse and embarrass me. Please let him not break a leg, arm, or any other body part he needs to hold me or carry me. Please also don't let him be the slow person on his team. Love, Abby"

Have a happy day!!!

Abby 03-19-10

Abby was WIDE awake at 10:30 last night. So we made a video :) And I tortured her with tummy time on her boppy. Video is 2 minutes long, so it may take a little bit to load!

I know...I know...

I know it's been a couple days since I last posted...really, only since Wednesday...but still!  Tim has been home on Spring Break, so that's been nice.  He has been getting up with Abby every morning at 8:00 when she wakes up - so I've had an extra 45 minutes of sleep or so.  Definitely been awesome.  Abby was doing very well with her night sleeping...up until last night.  We are totally done bragging on her.  Everytime we do, she shows us who is the boss.  That would be her to the left.  Wide awake well after midnight.  Look how puffy her eyes were!!!  She was just fighting going to bed!!

In other news...well, there's really been no other news.  Abby's hair has fallen out in the front (insert crying face here!!) and she looks like she has male pattern baldness.  I hope it grows back soon - though the internet is NOT helpful in that department, saying that it *should* come back by the time she is one year old.  Eleven months of NO HAIR?  We will be getting a baby toupee! It looks like she has a baby mullet (business in the front, party in the back!).  To which my friend Courtney says "The back will fall out soon too."  Thanks, Miss Optimism.

Yesterday, I was holding little Miss Crabby while she was sleeping and Tim walked over and demanded he hold her.  He likes her when she is in tree frog formation.   I do admit she is extra cuddly that way.  It's when you put her down in her bed/swing/bouncy/anywhere besides your arms that she totally freaks out.  In addition to about 15 moro "startle" reflexes, the screaming usually quickly begins.  She's gonna be a spoiled one when it comes to holding (shocker!).

That's all for now. I'll leave you with one additional photo.  I was changing her diaper yesterday and we were playing a little bit.  She gave me this look like, "Who's diaper is smelly?!  Not MINE??!!!!"  Of course not, she is faaarr too sweet for stink!

We bought a new mini camcorder today - the Kodak Zi8 - and tried it out :)

Happy Birthday Abs!

Happy Birthday Abby Reid!
There will be more to come today, no doubt, but just wanted to wish this sweet little girl a happy one month birthday :)  I can't believe a month has passed soooo fast!!

Life's Been Good to Me So Far...

Abby Reid seems to be doing MUCH better today - maybe medicine is kicking in - or maybe she was still exhausted from her 2 hours up wide awake in the middle of the night!!  Either way, she rested and was (for the most part, minus one good 20 minute melt down) in a great mood today!!  Tim and I went to Best Buy to try and find a small video camera so we can capture our precious moments with her (doesn't that sound like a commercial?!)...long story short, we are DONE with Best Buy and Clarence the rude camera area worker.  Hopefully we will get one in the next few days and I'll be able to upload some fun videos (after I figure out how!).

We have to decide when it is time to take her out of her bassinet...I know she is going to be SO MAD at being taken out of her little bassinet and put in the big bad world of "crib sleeping."  As you can see in the picture, she loves her bassinet from Aunt Frankie.  It just cradles her little body!  And it feels like the softest cloud in the world.  If I could fit my fat butt in it, I would totally be there!!  Look at those fat little cheeks!!

On another fun note, I noticed for the first time that she is finally getting one little bitty roll of thigh fat!  I've been waiting soooo long to see that!!  I love fat baby legs and poor Abb was born with these little chicken stick legs!

Today was Tim's first day of Spring Break.  It was soooooo nice to have a grown up in the house.  And plus, he got up with Ab at 8:00 this morning and I got to sleep until 9:30!!!!!!!!!!  It was incredibly amazing.  Can I hope for the same treatment tomorrow?  I doubt it, but hey, a girl can hope!!  I've been dressing Abby in "Daddy Loves Me" wear.  Psychological warfare?  Definitely!!

Cute! Cute! Cute!

Cute! Cute! Cute! - I would definitely say that this outfit says it all!!  Of course, I have to look at pictures like this when she is acting like a turkey to remind me that she is, in fact, adorable!  I know she can't help it - that reflux is horrid.  But then there are other times when you can already start to see the mischeviousness behind those blue eyes!!!  We had a very very rough night last night - it was her first flat out refusal to go to bed.  Luckily for me, Coach Dad was feeling bad about being gone EIGHTEEN HOURS to a track meet and he let me go to bed and stayed up with her little turkey self.

Mom and Daddy came over today for a few hours - they seem to enjoy living only an hour and a half away for some strange reason :)  We ate lunch at Ezells, but much to Daddy's and Tim's dismay there were no fried crab claws :(  Ah well.  Back to home so they grandparents could argue over baby.  I didnt get a picture of Momma and Abby today, but I got a good one of Dad - and have this one of Mom that is one of my favorites!  My favorite is of her making a crazy face, but out of respect for her - and a desire not to get yelled at - I will not post it.  It is definitely nice having them so close by. We just wish everyone else was closer...though I do hear rumors of a visit from Tim's mom for Easter!

On another note, we still can't get Howie off of the boppy...and Granny Candy and Papa Frank forgot to tell him goodbye today!!  His feelings were terribly hurt until they remembered.  He has forgiven them because he is a good boy...but warns the wrath of the beagle if it happens again!!!

Looking back at some of the pictures of sweet Abby, it is amazing how much she has grown in 3 weeks.  I guess because I see her every day (and every waking minute!), I don't realize it.  She is already growing into her own little personality and developing funny mannerisms.  I'm working on a list of them so that I wont forget them - perhaps my favorite adorable thing is when she stretches really big, with her hands above her head, her little wrists shake because she can't control them yet!

That's all for now.  Tim is on Spring Break this week, so hopefully we will take some cute pictures :)  Hope you all got your birth announcements - except for you, Aunt Pat.  Yours came back because apparently when Mom mailed them, it was stuck to another and it didn't get postage.  It's coming, I swear it :)  XOXO

3rd week winding down...

Poor sweet Abby.  Still suffering from the reflux, but doing a lot better.  This exhausted sleep is courtesy of Karen's love!  Once K left, I put her to bed and she threw her hands up like "I surrender" and promptly passed back out!!  I adore this little girl.  She stayed asleep, courtesy of the Sleep Sack!  Love the sleep sack too!  The zantac seem to be helping, in addition to the change of formula.  Thankfully.  We had a big few days - went to South Girard to meet new friends...Karen came over to visit us and cook us a FANTASTIC dinner...Sonya's on her way here now with lunch.  Where, you ask, is Tim?  $5 to the person who guesses WRONG.  You got it - track.  Track, track, track.  I can't wait for Ab to be old enough to put in a sling and go with him!

When we were getting ready to go to South Girard, we tried on THREE dresses that I had bought her in newborn size.  They are all still waaaay too big!!  Luckily, Abby's Aunt Frankie had bought this precious strawberry dress with red pants and Abby looked soooo adorable.   She was chillin in her carseat while I dried my hair.  She likes the sound of the hair dryer - supposedly the hair dryer and the vacuum sound like the sounds babies hear in the womb and it relaxes them!!

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of meeting Howie, he is a very special beagle.  Tim and I have always joked that he knows when something is wrong with one of us and he goes to that person and tries to "heal" them.  He lays really hard against you and passes really is different from other times when he is just lazily laying beside you.  He was stuck to my side during pregnancy.  He always laid his head on my belly - I'm not sure if he could hear something different in there or if he recognized something foreign growing in my body.  I kept telling him that it was ok and it wasn't something horrible growing in there!  All I know is that he doesn't lay with me like that anymore now that Ab is out.  Anyhow. I say all that to say...on Abby's worst night from the reflux, I was holding her in my lap in the recliner trying to soothe her.  Howie jumped up there, turned around and pushed his body up against us.  Now, mind you, Howie has NOT had any desire to be that close to her.  Abby promptly propped her feet up on his back and went to sleep.   It gave me hope that maybe, just maybe, one day they will be best friends.

Tim will kill me for posting this picture, but I think it is tooo adorable.  We ALL know that Tim can pass out anywhere...apparently, Abby agrees with this plan.  They were both awake one minute...I left the room to finish laundry, came back, and they were both passed out.  Everytime Abby falls asleep and Tim is holding her, he falls asleep too!!  When I went to Bunco the other night, he actually asked me, "How do I make her go to sleep so I can take a nap?"  Yes, I laughed in his face.  After she finally DID go to sleep, he sent me a text message saying "Do not feed her after midnight or get her wet.  Gremlins are a biotch."  This, after claiming she was a "ninja" and pretended to be asleep in the car...only to wake up once he got inside.  Welcome to Fatherhood TLo.

Sad days :o(

Well...we have had a rough two days...starting on her exact 3rd week birthday, Abby had some serious digestive issues.  She woke up at 2:30 AM yesterday morning...ate, and cried until 4:30 AM.  Back up again at 6:00 AM and stayed up...and up...and up...until 7:30 PM last night.  Yes, you read that right.  Over 12 hours awake with only 2 little fifteen minute naps.  And not just crying.  I mean, screaming in pain.  Thrashing legs.  Hard stomach.  Arching back.  Pitiful face.  It was heartbreaking.  So when Tim got home, he called our doctor and the nurse on call called us back.  After hearing her symptoms, she made us an appointment for first thing this morning; so at 9:20, we headed on back to Rivertown Pediatrics.  Our regular doc doesn't work on Thursdays, so we saw Dr. Cheek.  Right when she walked in, she heard Abby's little raspy throat and said "ooooh, reflux."  She assured me that we hadn't over-reacted...that it wasn't just fussiness...and not was actual reflux (stomach acid building up in her little esophagus).  So we changed formulas - to a "sensitive" formula - and are taking Baby Zantac.  Luckily, this is something that she will outgrow.  I am sure that it is too early to really see a difference, but she is a completely different baby already today.  It's probably exhaustion :)  Regardless, after eating and taking her medicine, there were no screams of pain and no thrashing.  Only peaceful, sweet sleep.

First bath pics to come soon - I havent uploaded them from the camera!

Heads Up, BFFs, and passing out!

No big stories today - just a few fun pictures.  Abby is really working hard to pick her head up - I was able to snap a cute picture of it - but she lifted her head waaaaay higher than I expected so I accidentally cut off the top of her head ;)  In the second picture, she was having a rough, fussy afternoon, so I just threw her gently placed her on a fuzzy blanket.  She immediately went to having a good time :)  On a fun note, Abby met her new BFF Hanna Lane today.  Hanna is 7 months and we know they are going to be the best of friends :)  Isn't Hanna adorable?!

Stroller walks, leis, and burning love...

After a fun diaper change, we were walking back through the house and I was distracted by our Jimmy Buffett leis hanging in the office.  I decided to wrap Abby up in them and take pictures :)  She was a good sport...for awhile.  Then she spit up and was all done with pictures for the afternoon!

Prior to our photography session, we went on our first stroller walk today at Tim's track.  He even was able to sneak out and join us - but shhhh, don't tell :)  It was chilly when I left the house, so Ab was wearing long sleeves and we didnt make it too far today - she got warm!!  Tomorrow, shorts and short sleeves for us!!
Tonight, I went to pick her up from her bouncy seat and she felt like she was ON FIRE.  I took her temp in her armpit and it was almost 100 degrees.  According to all the pediatric websites (as well as my school nurse Cindy), you are supposed to add one degree to that.  Which would have put her temp at almost 101!!  We quickly called Tim and he headed to Walgreens to get the all important rectal thermometer (said in big bad scary voice).  Apparently, along with her daddy's little toe, big thumb, and big yawn, she also has his hot body temperature because her rectal temp was normal!!  Which is good because her doctors office didn't bother to call us back!

After all this excitement, we are putting off the bath for another day - especially since I sponged her off when I thought she had a fever!!

Belly Buttons, Monster PJs, & Boppy Pillows

Today was a very exciting day.  Miss Abby Reid woke up early and was ready to party...maybe she knew that in less than an hour from her awakening something incredibly exciting would happen...she FINALLY lost her stump!!  She now has a very cute belly button.  Thank God!  We've been wrestling with that dang stump and now we can FINALLY take a bath...which we had every intention of doing tonight but have now put off until tomorrow for a variety of (not so good) reasons!  Look forward to seeing screaming, pitiful baby pictures from her first bath tomorrow night!! (Sorry for the brightness of the belly button picture)

Another landmark event...we had to cut the feet out of her our favorite pjs - the monster ones.  She keeps getting taller and taller and not filling them out anywhere else.  We couldn't bear to let them go...sadly now, she looks like the Incredible Hulk busting out of her jammies!!  The picture to the left is of Ab's favorite sleeping position - we call it the "tree frog."  Usually after eating/burping, she clings on like a tree frog and passes out.  You will also notice the busted out bottoms of the monster pjs.

We had a very nice visit from my mom and dad today.  We went to Cracker Barrel (Abby slept).  We came back home and visited (Abby slept).  We had wonderful bbq chicken tacos courtesy of Chef Tim (Abby slept).  My parents left to go home (we had to pry the baby from my daddy's hands).  As soon as they pulled out of the driveway...ABBY WOKE UP.  And stayed up.  All afternoon and evening!  Here's hoping she sleeps tonight!!  On another note...Daddy did buy me some Diet Dr Pepper (with a KISS of cherry).  It's DELICIOUS!
Howie has further taken over the boppy pillow.  Now he goes in from the opening and buries his head in the pillow completely.  And looks very sullen when someone else (aka the baby) is using the boppy.  He seems to have accepted his new sister more - he walks by sniffing her with his tail wagging now.  When it is just the three of us (when Tim goes to work), Howie will even lay beside me and he doesn't want Tim to know yet that he has accepted her :)  He does go back and lay in the room with her when we put her to bed though.  He'll get there...we hope!

That's all for now.  Can't wait to post first bath pictures tomorrow.  And you should all be receiving baby announcements in the mail in the next few days - thanks to Mom for mailing them for me :)

Mellow Mushroom and Moose Feet

So tonight for dinner, we met our friend Karen at Mellow Mushroom.  We always LOVE Mellow Mushroom and Karen too :o)  We came home with a hungry little girl - obviously she is far too young to enjoy the Magical Mystery Tour (add chicken, minus jalapenos).  We got a bottle and went to change into our jammies - only to figure out that all of her pjs were in the laundry room.  So, she is wearing the "Mommy's Big Boy" pjs with moose feet!  When I first told my friend Sonya I was pregnant, she was sooooo insanely excited.  That very day, she went to the store and bought a girl's sleeper (with bunnies and a frilly butt that Abby wears all the time) and a boy's sleeper (the aforementioned moose feet)....along with a baby cell phone that Rachel picked out!  Obviously at that time, we didn't know what I was having.  I kept the moose jammies - probably because Tim kept asking at every ultrasound if it was "still a girl?" and I was afraid to get rid of them :)  And they were so darn cute!  Thanks Aunt Sonya!
I dont think I have talked about Abby's pteradactyl noise...Tim calls it her radar.  When she is sleeping and starting to wake up, she will make this noise...kind of like a sweet, but scary "aaahhhhhh" noise.  She makes it two times...usually about 10 minutes apart.  If no one has answered her or paid her attention, the third time, she makes that noise, quickly followed by the beginnings of a fit. It is really adorable...but kind of in the way a tornado siren know something bad is coming...with the possibility of mass destruction.  But she's just so darn cute...

That's all for tonight...goodnight y'all!

New Perspective...New Day!

How can such a sweet face cause such an uproar?!?  She was in a particularly turkey-ish mood yesterday afternoon and from 3:30 - 5:00 AM this morning.  I wanted to scream!!  And then I read on a friend's facebook page that her friend lost her babies today.  I can't imagine how devastated she is!  So now, as Abby is screaming and kicking her feet and making a fuss, I'm going to have to look at her and just be thankful!  Please help me remember that!
On another note, we went and picked up birth certificates today - so we are official :)  We also went and had Mike & Ed's in Tim's classroom (the kids were at lunch, and yes, he lysol-ed.  I asked!).  Big day - which will no doubt lead to an angry night!!
This afternoon, we looked at black and white animal pictures and then played on the floor on our tummy and I took pictures with Tim's fancy camera! Of course mine arent as good or "artsy" as his are - ever!  But when the subject is this cute...well, the pictures will always turn out alright :)  I love the one where Howie turned over to see what we were doing :)

And now...Abby has the hiccups.  It is only a matter of time before she gets REALLY mad at them, so I'm off :)
