Whew - week!

Well, we rolled into our 9th week in existence on Wednesday.  It's hard to believe that she has been alive long enough to get a half credit in a high school class :o)  Monday was her first day of daycare.  Tuesday she had shots.  Friday and Saturday I worked Tim's sectionals track meet.  Friday night, we attended a dinner theater at CHS.  It was Abby's first real "people" outing where other people were around her in an uncontrolled environment :)  She behaved SO well.  She slept the first hour and then "allowed" herself to be held and entertained the last part.  She even met a boy - Aidan!  He held her hand, touched her eyes, ears, nose, "body" (belly), toes, etc.  And then sat for a few minutes with his hand on her thigh.  His daddy claimed that "pimpin in genetic."  It wasn't soon after the hand on the thigh incident that HER daddy offered to hold her! Coincidence?  I think not!  Abby stayed with Sonya today while I worked the meet.  They went to Rachel's "Pretty in Pink" pageant to raise money for Relay for Life.  (See pictures below).  I was worried about Sonya getting sick of Abby, but when I messaged her and said I was on my way to get her, she said "Dang."  Apparently they partied hard - Abby is passed out!  So are Tim and Howie for that matter.  A nap?  What is that!

So the green grasshopper picture story - I was holding Abby and showing her her color book.  She looked bored with all the colors.  I got to green and she smiled and stuck her tongue out at the grasshopper.  We moved on to blue, purple, brown.  Bored again.  Back to green grasshopper.  Tongue back out.  She is so funny!!

Her newest trick - she smacks her lips as her first hunger warning now.  Adorable.  If you dont feed her?  Not so adorable!!

My friend April brought an adorable onesie over to Abby from Disney World.  It is pink with Minnie Mouse's body all the way up to the head hole.  So it looks like Abby's head on Minnie's body.  I will have to take a picture :)

Shots, Daycare, and Track Club, Oh My!

So this is the sweet smiling baby that left our house this morning...and then there was the doctor's office.  She smiled and made friends with all the nurses.  Then turned to me and smiled.  And then they stuck her.  Repeatedly in the thigh.  And she screamed like a wild jungle woman.  I've never heard such in all my life!!  I felt awful for her.  Her face turned the color of my jeep!!  They said she was 11.9 pounds and 22.5 inches.  70% for weight and 50% for height.  They are SO wrong about her height.  I measure her here all the time and she is right at 24 inches.  Dummies!!!

Her daycare is going well.  I didn't blog about it because it was still sensitive yesterday.  They are super sweet and say she is an "easy" baby.  They are insane or else they have horribly bad babies!!  When I've gone in to pick her up, she's been happy.  In fact, all the babies were happy.  Must be a magic touch.

Tonight, we ate dinner at Mike& Eds before track club.  During dinner, we looked over to see her "poop" face.  I knew we were in trouble.  I changed her on Tim's "other" desk once we got to his school.  I asked him to put her new diaper on her while I disposed of the old one.  What does Abby Reid do?  Pee-pee'd on his desk.  HILARITY.

Last Day of Maternity Leave...

So today was my last day of Maternity Leave.  I was blessed to have 8.5 weeks of leave and only be charged for 7.5 weeks of sick days due to Spring Break.  They have both flown by and gone so slow.  I hate to admit that I'm sad to go back, but I am a little.  So don't ask me about it!!!

And of course, Abby chose today to be full of personality.  We were sitting in the recliner and she turned and smiled at me.  Her first unsolicited smile.  Go ahead and kick me in the teeth.  Then when we were sitting on the couch, she was making the funniest faces (the pics in the bee outfit).  The other pic is just to show her cute outfit and pretty blue eyes!!  Pray for me on Monday...and Tim for having to deal with me!

Smile Ab!

Reloaded from YouTube. Was having trouble for a bit :) Sorry if y'all got repetitive emails!

Abby's sweet smile!

She is getting soooo smart already!! Today is her 2 month birthday. It is hard to believe that 8 weeks ago today, I was child-less...and now it seems I'm never without her!! It's been an interesting...wonderful...trying...scary...precious...hilarious...(insert any adjective here) time. I can't believe that Monday I go back to work and she starts daycare. I'm happy and sad - but I don't want to talk about it. And really wanna punch everyone who says "There's just no way you can stay home with her?" Sure there is. And we could starve her to death!

Abby's uncle Jeff bought her this doll - if I'm not mistaken, he ripped it out of some poor child's hands so he could have it for Abby :) That's what good uncles do!!

I took pictures of Abby today in this adorable dress that I've been WAITING for her to be able to wear. It's a little big, but who cares?! We also ran over to the mall to eat lunch with friends and bought her her first pair of flip flops and got a great sale on a rain jacket for fall! Love sales!!

All Business, no pictures yet...

Just an update of where we've been and what we've been doing.  Abby woke me up early on my bday (as you can see by the adorable smiling picture in previous post!).  We went to SGS for a cookout to celebrate Spring Break (and my bday - thanks Donna and Cindy!).  Everyone loved Abby and she got to spend some time outside on a gorgeous day.  And no, she didn't get "Wind Colic."  That afternoon, I went to work the SSHS track meet and Abby got to stay here at the house with Sonya.  Of course, I was a nervous wreck, despite the fact that Sonya has raised her own child.  But dang it, Abby is special :)  I shouldnt have worried though because Abby was just fine (see picture) and I'm sure she was never put down the whole time!  Afterwards, we went to El Vaquero to celebrate my bday!!

Saturday, bright and early, Abby Reid and I were at the track meet!  She behaved very well (for the most part) and enjoyed the nice weather.  Saturday night, we went to some friends' house for a cookout.  Their little boy kept bringing things to Abby - a toy dog, his popsicle, anything he could find.  (She was asleep in her carrier).  He wanted to interact with her soooo badly.  Everytime he got close, his mom or dad would go and get him and he would say in the most pitiful voice, "Babies."  Poor little fella!  He finally got to meet her later on when she woke up!!

Sunday, Mom and Dad came over for my bday and we went to - you guessed it - Ezells!!  I love that place!!!  Came back and Abby was a fussy butt the whole time.  She didn't take a single nap from 10:00 AM until 9:30 PM last night.  By about 6:00, Tim and I were ready to knock ourselves in the head!!  Of course, she slept the whole night.  Poor baby was exhausted!!

I got in her labels for her bottles ( - they are sooooo cute.  They are made like those "Livestrong" bracelets and have her name on them!!

That's about it.  This is our last week at home - Ab starts daycare a week from today and I go back to work. I'm excited and sad at the same time.  I know she will be ok, but that first day will be very difficult.  We are going to work on sleeping/napping in her crib this pray for us!

After having a (very) difficult and wide awake morning, my daddy came over on his way to Atlanta for a visit. A few position changes, and Abby finally passed out in his hands. Literally. With his hands under her armpit holding her up. Blessed sleep! Now to take lunch to her daddy :)

Easter, Gram Visit, and Health Update

Happy Easter!!!!  It's definitely been a few days since I wrote anything because all of the sudden, there is a lot to say!  I have several cute pictures, so scroll to the end :)

I took Ab back to the doctor on Friday to check for dehydration - she had some minor dehydration, but not too bad.  Thankfully.  Doc told us to put her back on formula and she should be better.  This particular doctor thinks the projectile vomiting was due to the soy formula.  (I wish all these doctors could get together and decide on one thing, but oh well.)  So we are back on regular formula and hoping for the best.  She still has a rash on her upper back, chest, and shoulders which could be heat rash, seborrhea (spelling?!), or something else.  I guess we will find out when we go back the 20th if she still has it.  It doesnt seem to bother her, so I'm going to relax about it - something you know is hard for me :)

Tim's mom (Gram) came to visit this Saturday and Sunday.  We had a wonderful time!  We went to see Tim at a track meet (Abby's third!), went to Babies R Us in Newnan, and just hung out and let Abby get some love.  Abby showed her fussy face a few times - but who can blame her?  That Prevacid is just now getting in her system because of all of the sickness from before.  Poor little girl!!

We took some fun Easter pictures with her sheep and duck from her grandparents.  I'm mailing some out today so look out Maeghan, Morghan, and Frankie!  We also got a package in the mail from Aunt Frankie with, among other things, the CUTEST bikini ever.  Daddy is not too happy about his baby girl in a bikini this summer, but I cant wait to fatten up her belly to make sure it hangs over the bottoms.

Two weeks from today, I go back to work and Abby starts daycare.  This maternity leave has been both horridly slow and heartbreakingly fast.  It is undoubtedly going to break my heart to take her and leave her that first day/week/month!  Oh well.  Here's hoping the Prevacid works by then, the rash is gone, and we are back on our schedule.  Because between sickness and everything, we are totally off of our schedule.  She hasnt even been sleeping through the night anymore :(  Pray for us :)

Love yall!

Sitting in the car waiting on last blood draw for my post-pregnancy glucose test. You arent supposed to leave the building, but Abby was pitching such a fit, we were given special permission. She. Has. Had. It. With. Pedialyte. Shes had it. She wants formula and she wants it NOW! And everyone at Lab Corps knows it now.

Howie the Healer

So Abby is not a lot better today. She projectile vomited again this morning, so she's on pedialyte all day. And poor baby-its not filling her up. So as to not be left out, Howie also threw up this morning. These are the days of my life.
