Worst.Sister.Ever

Somehow, in my quickly written musings last night, I neglected to mention our time with the fabulous Fifi over Christmas.  Abby got to spend lots of time with Fifi - at our house on the actual holiday, as well as some time when we got back.  She LOVES her Aunt Fifi SOOOOO much.  Frankie got Abby some adorable Stephen Joseph gear and a fab table and chairs for her room that Abby sits in every single day.

Abby would like to take this time to apologize to Aunt Fifi for her mom's forgetfulness.  You are her favorite Aunt on her momma's side.  Love you.

A little update here...a little update there...

Christmas.  Whew!  Glad that is over.  Don't get me wrong, it was amazing while it lasted.  But having an overstimulated almost 2 year old for a full week was almost too much.  She completely racked up on toys, clothes, etc - our house is like Toys R Us!  Strangely enough, all of her favorite gifts were from different people!!!  She's very diversified.  We spent the first part of Christmas with Gram and Nana/Pop at our house.  Abby woke up and immediately bee-lined for her toys and table and chairs.  She was so sweet and had ZERO interest in opening presents - why should she have to work when Santa has obviously left all the fun stuff out to be seen?!  What a mess she is!!!  We dined on sausage and cream cheese pinwheels and homemade egg mcmuffins (courtesy of Pinterest).  Nana and Pop left mid-morning to head to Mobile to see sweet Uncle Mitch and Aunt Sally after Mitch's heart surgery (he's home now and doing fine, thanks for prayers!!).  We (the three of us and Gram) left for Aunt Monica's and had Christmas all over again!!  We spent a few days there - although as much as Abby drug and bossed Maeghan and Morghan around, they probably felt like we were there for months!!  She LOVED playing piano with them and walking up and down and up and down and up and down the stairs.  Abby spent the rest of the week home with us - sleeping late (for her - 7:30) and playing HARD.

Today was Abby's first day back in over a week.  Needless to say, she lost her MIND when I dropped her off.  I could still hear her screaming "My Mommmmmyyyyyy" down the hallway when I left the building.  Heartbreaking.  Of course, when I got there this afternoon, she was all smiles, had had a wonderful day, hugged all her friends bye, and told her teachers she loved them.  Mrs. Vanessa also told me that a child tried to bite her today...when she scolded him, Abby drug him over and told him to "say sorry."  Bless her heart.  She LOVES those women!  They say (and anyone who is around her for any length of time knows) that she is talking so well.  She repeats everything, strings multiple sentences together, and is learning words by the dozens.  Some new favorites on her flashcard game are - "watermelon," "xylophone," and "sandwich."  She loves food words - which is odd because she's kind of a picky eater!

Cute, funny, smart things she's doing now....She will grab my ipad and say "Birds?" and "Cats?"  Those are her two favorite games.  Tonight, we heard her singing along to "Red Solo Cup" in the backseat on the way home - "Let's have a party."  It's the first time she's sang along with the radio on her own.  In the sweetest voice.  She also loves to sing "Happy Birthday to You," but the "Sprout TV" version.  Last night, she serenaded me with the ABC song, mixed with something else.  She seems to be big in song "mash ups" - like on Glee.  She also sings, "E I E I Moo Moo Cow" when I start "Old MacDonald."  She knows several animal noises.  We are still struggling with colors - everything is yellow...except yellow of course.  It is "wed."    Last night, she wrapped a purple thing around her shoulders, walked up, and said, "Abby so pretty?"  She still loves Howie endlessly, wanting to "Howie a kiss?" before we leave in the mornings.  She gives the sweetest kisses, "noses," and hugs.  You know she loves you if she pats you on the back while you are holding her.

She's still terrified of Santa Claus, Chucky Cheese, and anything of that sort.  And by terrified, I mean horrified, traumatized, and hysterical.  In fact, after our Chucky Cheese adventure, she woke up three nights in a row in the middle of the night, screaming.  It will be awhile before we go there again.  We did, however, finally enjoy Monkey Joes.  She bounced to her heart's content that morning, and took that over into our time at the Laney's for New Year's Eve on their trampoline.  Needless to say, we will be getting a trampoline for her birthday.  Donations accepted.  :)

We went to spend the afternoon in Ozark after Christmas was all said and done.  Abby got to play in Pop's boat - which she loved.  We put up their new tv and got them all set up and she...well...she sat in the refrigerator.  Yes, I said it.  :)  She loved opening the door, and sitting in the fridge.

That's about it for now.  There are a million different stories on a million different days...they all build up and make her the adorable, contrary, sassy, smart, and loving little piece of work that she has become.  And she's not even 2 yet!!  Lord help us!
