This Post is Brought to you by the Number 2

As I'm sure you are all aware, Abby has officially crossed into Terrible 2 land (by age, not behavior).  We began  with her school birthday party Friday afternoon.  We had cupcakes and Kool Aide Chillers.  The kids were so awesome and Abby loved every second!  There was music, dancing, and sweets - what's not to love!!  After that, we came home to meet up with Gram and go out to Fuji for dinner (to eat eat rice!).

Saturday (PARTY DAY!), we got up early (well, we do that EVERY day) and started readying ourselves for the party.  The Steelreath's arrived around lunchtime and we had pizza and family time (mostly jumping on the trampoline!).  Around 2:00, the party got started.  We borrowed a blow up playhouse from Abby's friends Lilly and John David (we were supposed to have our very own - more on that later!).  Five of Abby's friends joined us with family and we had a blast.  The kids played AWESOME together and Abby really racked up presents!!  What's so funny about Abby is how focused she can be on something....during the party, once she opened a baby from her friend Lilly, she couldnt really focus on anything else fully.  Later that night, she was all about her dinosaur from her friend Aidan.  Earlier that morning, it was the wagon from Gram.  This morning, it was the Leap Frog from her friend Sophie and baton from her friend Kinsey.  The entire way to Ozark, she played with her awesome "drawy thing" (as Tim calls it) from the Steelreath clan.  Tonight, it has been the cool sound puzzles (also from the Steelreaths).  We were truly so thankful for the awesome gifts we received...as well as the bday prizes earlier in the month from Uncle Jeff and Frank and Mimi and Mitch.  (Thank you notes are heading out tomorrow).

The only rain on our parade (aside from the actual RAIN) was that Nana and Pop couldn't join us on Abby's special day.  We are SOOOO thankful that Frankie was about to break away from Nurse Frankie and be Aunt Fifi - Abby gave her a great hug and was so excited to see her!  For those who do not know, Daddy has viral pneumonia - to the point that he had to go in the hospital o vernight :(  He sure knows how to mess up birthdays!  (Valve replacement/CABG on Tim's and pneumonia on Abby's!  I asked what he had in store for mine in April!).  The Dabney's went banded together and bought Abby an awesome bouncy thing (pics will come as soon as we get to open it - next weekend!).  Other than that, pics of Abby playing with all her toys will be posted hopefully tonight or tomorrow!!

In other news, Abby went #2 in the potty tonight for the first time!  And of course, Tim was the one with her...AGAIN!!  I guess she just feels like potty around her daddy!!  I was teasing him about it and he said, "I'd rather have been here the first time she crawled!"  I can't say I blame him!!

That's all for now!  Hopefully posting pics VERY soon!  Love y'all!

Potty and War Eagle...

A few side notes -
Abby used the potty again tonight before bed (two nights in a row!).
Daddy is in the hospital with viral pneumonia.  Please pray for him, my momma as she tries to deal with them, my sister as she deals with momma and daddy, and the hospital as they have to deal with all three.
As I was putting Abby to bed, I asked her did she want to sing "Jesus Loves Me" or "Twinkle Twinkle."  She said "NOOOOO.  War Eagle."  Apparently, that's daddy's song choice before bed...

How Time Flies...

As I sit here tonight on the couch, I can remember how naive, scared, excited, and impatient I was two short years ago.  I don't remember sleeping at all that night, as I waited to go to the hospital the next morning (at 4:00 AM)!  Had I known then what I know now - I would have SLEPT dang it!!  There are so many things I would change and so many that I wouldnt, but in the end, Abby Reid is the most precious thing on this earth to me.  She has changed my life in ways I never thought possible, made me realize how selfish I was, how capable of love I was, and TRIED me on a daily basis!  Even at her young two years old, she is smart, clever, funny, sneaky, and soooo loving.  Her smile can light up a room and her cry can clear one.  She's the perfect addition to our family.  Happy Birthday Abby Reid Loreman!  You will never know how much we love you!

get well pop.

Fun updates

I seem to post pics often, but never any fun updates on life in general.  We are currently in negotiations over potty training.  She has used it once in her little potty (January 23!!)...other times, she lets us know (just afterward) that she needs potty.  We'll get there - no stress at our house about it.  We have diapers, we have pullups (merely stretchy diapers), we have panties - we will soon have training panties as well.

Abby is talking more and more every single day.  She says the funniest things!!  She will look in the mirror and  say "Abby pretty."  She has started telling me things are "up there" and "out there" and "over there."  She will get in the "baf" and holler "Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiim" and expect him to come see her.  She likes to "fwip" (flip).  She loves to jump, run, and SLIDE!  She plays so hard every single time she plays.  She loves to play with her babies "Babies in house?"  She will pick up my phone and say, "Call Nana?  Call Pop?  Call Fifi?  Call Yaya?  Call Onna?"  She will pick up Tim's Ipad and say "Call Gwam?"  It's funny that she knows the difference between the technology.  She also will pick up my Ipad and say "Play Birds?" and "Play Cat?"  She knows that mine houses her games!!

Abby and Tim have special daddy daughter time on the weekends - they spend an hour or so in the recliner in the mornings and wind up in the same place in the evenings.  They watch Sprout, Dora, Nick Jr, and random shows.  They cuddle.  They hold blankets.  They drink, they snack.  It's really rather ridiculous, but I wouldnt trade it for anything.  And ASK him to give her up.  He gets sooooo mad if she (Heaven Forbid) choose to sit with me!!  He genuinely gets his feelings hurt!

She insists on being read the same story every night now - she has chosen her Aubie Tiger book as her favorite (WAR EAGLE and thanks to the Steelreath's bday present last year!).  She will point out "Abby Tiger" as she calls him and when it comes to the page with the Volunteers dog, she says "Whats Howie doin?"  When it is bedtime, she will gather up her many blankets, walk down the hall, stop at the bathroom, say "Brush teeth?" then head on to her room for story time.  She insists on "a kiss" and "a hug" over and over.  And we must oblige or all hell breaks loose.  When we finally get her ready in bed, we shut the lights, close the door, and walk away.  She comes to the door one last time, opens it, looks down the hall to make sure we have gone, and goes back and crawls in bed and covers up with her moose blanket ("anket moose" she calls it) and goes to sleep (Special thanks to Jeff and Frank!).

Those of you who talk to Frankie on a regular basis know the story I'm about to share here.  Tim is out of town all the time during the winter months now for Indoor Track.  I had a hair appointment (how dare I schedule something for myself, right?).  Luckily, Aunt Fifi picked up my slack and agreed to pick up Abby early from school.  This is surprising in itself because of the way that Abby behaved the last time Fifi picked her up and took her to the mall.  Anywho...they had a fantastic afternoon...going to see Frankie's coworkers at St Francis, getting chocolate, eating at Burger King.  They come back to my house.  Abby strips down and says "Baf Fifi?"  Fifi calls me to make sure it's ok - it is.  They play in the baf together...for awhile.  Then Abby decided to...how shall we say...for the first time ever..."drop the kids off at the pool?"  Yes.  She did the doodie in the bathtub.  Frankie freaked out!!  Me, I think she's a nurse and should be able to handle such things!  What do you think? :)

I picked up Abby today from school and heard something that warmed my heart...she's a good friend.  When someone in her class is sad or upset, Abby goes over and puts her arm around them or gives them her toy.  (Never her blanket though!).  When you ask her who her friends are, she always says "Owen" and "Torrie."  She also says, " NO BITING!"  HAHAHA.  She totally tells on him :)

We are currently going through a "no eating" phase.  She only wants cheese, mandarin oranges, cookies, milk, and juice.  And crab cakes.  Hello, random eater!

We are looking forward to seeing the Steelreaths this Thursday and the Dabneys this weekend.  More than anything else, we are looking forward to Abby's birthday party this coming weekend.  Invites are in the mail, so family you should have received yours - if not today then for sure tomorrow or the next day.  I don't trust the mail anymore!!!  Also in our near future is SPRING BREAK!!!  Best I can tell, we are headed to Orlando and Sea World!!  I can't wait to show Abby all the fun that Sea World has to offer :o)

I think that's about it - I'm sure I'll think of something in the next five minutes, but I'll add more after the birthday!!!

Love y'all!
